Afternoon all!
Just wanted to send you a quick message about our show for TYVEK tomorrow at The Grosvenor in Stockwell. We've been dreaming of TYVEK reaching our big smoke from their motor city home for years, so it's with much joy that we welcome them finally to London. A full-on evening of splintered garage slap and rambling noise punk is a dead cert, fortified further with the ever awesome SPIN SPIN THE DOGS and THE PHEROMOANS in support too. Tyvek are new traditionalists from Detroit who unashamedly take the reins and harness the ambition to keep their slurred, manically refreshing noise pop bouncing around the skulls of everyone still breathing in the real, uncategorizable fumes of the original new wave. With an already impressive trail of essential releases behind them, including the recent In The Red album 'Nothing Fits' and an infinitesimal stream of "tour-only" CDRs, the band is always evolving, yet never strays too far from the original cacophony that earned them a spot in the hallowed halls of modern punk's elite erratics. Their live set shifts dramatically with each new appearance, ranging from a monstrous five-piece to a stripped-down trio that gets the job done without sacrificing the intensity or brazen brevity that captures the off-center sounds of bygone-era DIY scrapings and spins them into gold.

The Pheromoans are five young men from the suburban hard shoulder that lies between London and Brighton. The quintet have a cavalier approach to their instruments. Everyone seems to get a go at everything, with an admirable disregard for whether they can play it very well or not. Somehow this approach translates into DIY shamble / avant-garage at its finest in the tradition of The Keggs, Swell Maps and Danny And The Dressmakers. Catch their awesome new LP on Convulsive now!

Spin Spin The Dogs is a band of rotating line-up that formed in Nottingham in 2003 after its core members Vincent Larkin, Dean Hinks and John Wilson began making music in the basement of their shared house. The group draw from an eccentric mix of influences, the most observable probably being The Contortions, James Brown, Ivor Cutler and The Fall. Gringo have released a recent 12" EP entitled 'Leave Me In Leicester' whilst a forthcoming split 12" with Please will see a release on Upset The Rhythm soon.
