New split LP and Trash Kit show tomorrow

Afternoon all!
It’s an exciting week for us at Upset The Rhythm as our split LP featuring Dog Chocolate and Ravioli Me Away hits the shops. This new puddle of vinyl is a riot of elasticated hypnotics and deadpan post-punk and you can hear the whole album streaming away downriver here!
If you wanted to pick up the record for £10 including postage and packaging then our webshop is good place to head towards. Tomorrow also sees us pitch up at The Grosvenor in Stockwell for a thrill ride of a show with Trash Kit, As Ondas and Primetime all performing. Full details follow, along with news of our recently confirmed concert for R. Stevie Moore in May at Café OTO too, enjoy…

TRASH KIT
AS ONDAS
PRIMETIME
Thursday 27 February
The Grosvenor, 17 Sidney Road, Stockwell, SW9 0TP
7:30pm | £5 | TICKETS

TRASH KIT are a gang of flag-bearers with a wild feel for melody and a heartfelt kick inside each song. Mixing tumult, considered songcraft and overlapping harmonies in equal measure, the trio sound as joyful as they are focussed. Rachel Aggs, Rachel Horwood and Ros Murray formed the band in early 2009, and since then have been lighting up London, energising the UK underground with their raw performances. Trash Kit have a sound of their very own, it's both urbane and primal, drawing on the potential of punk and the naturalism of an internal folk music. After a ruminative 2013, this year the band are readying a new album for Upset The Rhythm and this'll be your last chance to see them before they head out on tour with The Ex in Europe!

AS ONDAS are a band afresh, featuring members of Dog Legs, Shopping and Wachi Wachi they start their race with a sprint. With a spartan drum, bass and guitar lineup, As Ondas deliver up a delirious, chorus-drenched prom punk alongside the occasional wistful meditation.

PRIMETIME are another new band, finding their feet amid spirited post punk clatter with a sense of propulsive fun and maximal energy. Primetime's songs are rampages of sound as raw and minimal as they are inventive, recordings have just made the light of day, check it!

Catch you tomorrow,
Respectfully yours,
UTR

New shows announced!!!

Hello again!
Upset The Rhythm returns with a sold out show for Future Islands tomorrow. I’m tremendously excited to hear live what’s in store from their new album! If you missed out on tickets (sincerest apologies), we have a new show in May (think bigger) on sale now with Ed Schrader’s Music Beat and Kristian Harting joining the lineup too. These last few weeks have been busily spent confirming new shows for The Julie Ruin (coming back over in August!), Chain & The Gang, Flower-Corsano Duo, Ashley Paul and Natural Snow Buildings too. Our next party is also a newly announced one, this time for Trash Kit ahead of their Euro dates with The Ex. We’re very pleased to say we have Primetime and As Ondas playing this one too. Full show blurb to follow as well as listings for those other concerts collected at the end.

UTR have also been busy getting together our new split LP for Dog Chocolate and Ravioli Me Away that will see the light of day on Feb 24th. Pre-orders possible here. It’s a record that came about through a like-minded love of the ludicrous as well as gastronomic necessity and it sounds and looks amazing! This Wednesday sees them play a special pre-launch party with their friends Shopping at Power Lunches! Consider attending whilst marveling at this poster!

Thanks as ever for reading.

If you were lucky enough to get tickets for tomorrow’s sold out Future Islands show, here are the times: Gentle Friendly – 8.30pm, Future Islands – 9.30pm. I hear they’ll have copies of their new 7” on 4AD for sale and a limited lunar-themed tour poster. See you tomorrow and/or Wednesday!
Enjoy your week,
