The Canadian avant/noise/rock assemblage return with a new album that plunges to full fathom five, transforming their sound into something rich and strange. Side A captures a thumping performance at Cave12 in Geneva. Frazzled from a white-knuckle alpine descent, the group settle into a hypnotic sprawl, stretching time and form in ruminative cycles. Side B meanwhile presents a scorched excerpt from EarthBall’s crush of a performance at Le Guess Who? Festival last winter.
‘Actual Earth Music - Volume 3 & 4’ marks another ascent in EarthBall’s ever-expanding, totemic discography, an ecstatic storm of raw immediacy and unfiltered expression. Out now on Upset The Rhythm, the album is available through digital portals, extended CD and as a limited 180g black vinyl pressing.
